Rogers: The Musical

Rogers: The Musical

Bri Petrarca | @darlingdreamco

Dillon and I had such an amazing time at the opening day of Rogers: the Musical in California Adventure. This new musical made its way into the Hyperion Theater, where Aladdin and Frozen used to show. Rogers: the Musical runs Tuesday-Saturday, and there are 4 showings throughout the day to choose from. 12:30, 2:00, 4:00, and 5:30. This show is set to run between now and August 31st, and there is no word on what will happen after it’s done.

There is the option to purchase premium seating for $29/person, join the free virtual queue on the app, or wait in the standby line. Dillon and I had the desire to try out the premium seating, which is being sold at the Studio Catering truck in Hollywood Land. We got into the park, through the gates, and over to the truck at exactly 9:00am, when we discovered they were sold out of premium seating tickets for the entire day! They only sell 100 per showing, and they sold all 400 within 50 minutes of park opening. Our next bet was to try for the virtual queue at 10:30am, which could potentially place us in either the 12:30 or 2:00 showing. Just like virtual queues with other popular rides, the spots went within seconds, and we were unsuccessful. Our next bet was to wait for the second virtual queue to open up at 2:00 which could potentially put us in either the 4:00 or 5:30 showing.

While we were trying to figure out what we wanted to do (wait for the next virtual queue, or get in the standby line which was not actually a line), we had some amazing Disney magic happen! Friends of ours over at Getaway Today had an extra premium seating ticket, which I was able to use for the 12:30 showing. And another friend of ours was able to get Dillon into the Club 33 seating, which allowed him to sit right with us! Disney magic made for the best day, and we had such an incredible time watching the show!

The show is awesome. It’s hilarious, the dancing is amazing, and the songs are off the charts. I would definitely recommend seeing this show if you’re able to make it happen!

The premium seating is an awesome option if you are able to get to the park when it opens and you don’t want to stress about the chaos of the virtual queue or standby. It is $29 per person, and you can purchase your tickets at Studio Catering in Hollywood Land beginning at 8am when the park opens. Your ticket comes with photo ops, a popcorn bucket with specialty popcorn, a free soda or water, and premium floor reserved seating. The lounge you check in at also has cornhole and jenga to play, and merch you can purchase.

If the premium seating isn’t your jam, you have the opportunity to join the free virtual queue at 10:30am for the first two showings, or 2:00pm for the second two showings. The first VQ is notorious for being harder than the second one, in any VQ Disney uses. So just keep that in mind! The virtual queue can be joined on the app, and it gets you seating in the higher levels of the theater.

Overall, I highly recommend seeing this show. What a great 30 minute break in the AC from the lines and heat, while you enjoy some singing and dancing and laughs!
