10/10 recommend dining at the Blue Bayou if you can make it happen! The entire EXPERIENCE (the ambience, the cast members, the food, ALL of it) is outstanding and worth it!
The Blue Bayou is known as “the restaurant inside of Pirates of the Caribbean” and the entrance is located at the exit of Pirates in New Orleans Square. Reservations can be hard to come by, so plan way in advance to snag something at the 60-day mark, or keep an eye on the app for something to pop up! (If you need additional ways to snag reservations, DM me!) Another option would be to join the walk-up waitlist once you’re in the park! This is not guaranteed day-of, since it can fill up. But it’s worth a shot!
Dillon and I visited Blue Bayou for my 30th birthday, and we were lucky enough to be seated on the water! This is not a special reservation of any sort- it is pure luck! I’m sure if you requested it and asked to wait for a water table, you may be accommodated.. but expect to wait longer for a table! If you can, do it. Being on the water absolutely made the entire experience. We didn’t even feel like we were in a restaurant!
I started off with the heirloom tomato salad off of the allergy-friendly menu, which is the absolute best tomato salad I have ever had, and I will be dreaming of it until I can visit again! It had tomatoes of all colors and sizes, and watermelon, and arugula, and a sauce that was to die for. It was the perfect combination of sweet and savory… Absolutely mouth watering! For our entrees, Dillon had the filet and I had the fish. The fish for last night’s dining was seared ahi tuna. I kid you not, it was probably the best meal I’ve ever had on Disney property. The food all around was INCREDIBLE!
The ambience is exactly what you would expect… romantic and magical! To be inside Pirates or the Caribbean with the boats floating by as they begin their adventure… are you kidding?! It doesn’t get any better than that. The cast members were all amazing and kind and attentive. Overall the experience was one of the best, and we hope to go back one day!
