Babies & Toddlers at Disneyland

Babies & Toddlers at Disneyland

Bri Petrarca | @darlingdreamco

We’ve got one of each… a baby, a toddler, and a “big” kid. I get asked ALL the time about my tips for bringing littles to Disney… so let’s explore our day today with our two youngest, who are 3 years old and 6 months old!

My three must-haves:

1. Baby carrier

We can’t do Disney without a baby carrier! You are not able to bring strollers into lines, and babies get HEAVY after a while! Plus, most rides without a height requirement allow you to wear a baby in a carrier on the ride. It’s a win-win!

2. Snacks

Do your kids ask for snacks all day long at home? It won’t be any different at Disney! They may be too distracted to notice they’re hungry, but they’ll certainly ACT hungry! And Disney food ain’t cheap. Pack snacks! Tons of them. What better way to occupy a kid in a stroller or line, ya know?

3. Small toys for lines

Line waiting can be HARD for littles! We often bring little cars, or a bag of legos, or something they can easily play with while moving in a line. Anything they have to stop and set down can get tricky when the line is constantly moving. This makes the time go by much quicker for everyone involved.

My three must-dos:

1. Hit a few of the rides without height requirements

Any ride without a height requirement is good for all ages! Some of our current favorites are Winnie the Pooh, Snow White, Small World, and Tea Cups (all Disneyland), and The Little Mermaid (in DCA).

2. Run around in Toontown

Toontown is AMAZING for littles!!!! The characters, the houses, the play grounds, the grassy areas! We spent some time here today, and I fed Lincoln in the shade while Asher and Dillon played in Goofy’s backyard.

3. Head OUT of the parks for lunch/a break

You can visit any of the Disney resorts without staying there! And they have amazing food options at all of them as well, including quick service AND sit-down restaurants. Going to the resorts for lunch is one of our favorite ways to escape the hustle and bustle of the parks. It’s such a great way to experience the magic without the chaos of the crowds. Today we even packed our own lunches and didn’t spend a dime!

While bringing babies/toddlers to the parks can require a little extra planning, we believe it is always worth it! There is nothing like seeing the magic through your kids’ eyes, and the extra planning has the power to make or break your day!
