The Disney100 celebration has officially kicked off at Disneyland! This celebration honors the 100 years of the Walt Disney Company and invites guests to celebrate in the parks. There’s a lot to see and do to enjoy this celebration, but I’m going to list off my personal top five, can’t-miss experiences that will get you in the Disney spirit! Make sure to read through, as the last experience is on my “absolutely, can not miss, no matter what” list!
Enjoy Festive Disney100 Foods and Treats
With the celebration of 100 years of the Walt Disney Company comes lots of yummy foods and treats! All throughout the resort you can find delicious bites, and some even have a neat history! Take the lemon tea cake, for example. This is on the menu because it was Walt’s favorite dessert! To save you time, make sure to Mobile Order your Disney100 food items, it will save you time and allow you to enjoy more of the celebration in the parks!
Catch the Mickey and Friends Cavalcade
If you want to see all your favorite characters in their new, adorable outfits, you have to catch the Mickey and Friends Cavalcade in Disneyland! The cavalcade starts at 1:00 (but make sure to check the official Disneyland app for updated times) and begins at the small world side of the parade route. This short, upbeat cavalcade is perfect for little ones to see lots of their favorite characters!
Ride the BRAND NEW Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway in Toontown
If you can even believe it, in the 100 years of the Walt Disney Company, this is the first attraction Mickey and Minnie have been given! Seems fitting to be given your own ride when you’re celebrating such a huge milestone. This brand new ride is so much fun! And with no height requirement, all ages can ride! You can only ride by getting a spot in the virtual queue on the official Disneyland app or by purchasing an individual Lightning Lane. Even if you purchase a Lightning Lane, ask to go through the regular queue! The queue tells the story of Mickey through the years, from Steamboat Willie to the modern Mousekadoer in Mickey Mouse Clubhouse!

Explore the Disney100 Exhibit inside the Disney Gallery
The new exhibit for Disney100 inside the Disney Gallery on Main Street is a must see! It’s filled with rich history of the Walt Disney Company and the artwork showcased is really neat to see. My favorite part of the exhibit is the animator’s desk they have on display where the old map used to be. Take some time to explore this area during your trip. You’ll definitely learn a fun fact, or two!
Enjoy Wondrous Journey, the NEW Nighttime Fireworks Spectacular

Okay, this is the ULTIMATE can’t-miss experience for the Disney100 celebration. I’m telling you, you can not miss this show! It happens every day of the week, but fireworks only occur Friday through Sunday. This spectacular showcases all 62 Disney movies made over the last 100 years, including the upcoming film “Wish.” The music and projections in this show are absolutely incredible, and will pull at your heartstrings! You can see projections for this show on the castle, Main Street, it’s a small world, and Rivers of America. Seriously, DO NOT skip this one!
If you’re heading to the resort anytime soon, make time to enjoy aspects of this year-long celebration. There will never be another 100 year anniversary again! So enjoy the sights, sounds, and tastes of all that the Disney100 celebration has to offer!
