Top 5 Festival of Holidays Offerings

Festive seasonal food offerings and Disney California Adventure make for a wonderful holiday stroll with the added bonus of Disney attractions.

Here’s a handful of items to add joy and cheer to your palate while experiencing Disney Festival of the Holidays in DCA.

  1. Churro Toffee Cold Brew Latte $6.75, Favorite Things Booth in front of The Little Mermaid

I’m only as good as the coffee that fuels me, and this one is both a delicious treat and highly caffeinated. The whipped cream topped with churro syrup and crunchy chocolate toffee crumbles wishes you seasons greetings from a cup of happiness filled with Joffrey’s Mexican origin blend coffee, demerara sugar, cinnamon sugar, vanilla bean and almond milk. And there’s a bonus: This exact drink is available as a cold brew liqueur cocktail!

  1. IMPOSSIBLE Chorizo Queso Fundido $7.50, Brew & Bites across the entrance to Avengers Campus

Meat eater or not, this chip & dip combo is perfect to snack with as you stroll. It packs some great flavor for a queso. It’s topped with chopped cilantro and served with house-made tortilla chips. But my favorite hack? Go to Pacific Wharf Cafe and grab some sourdough bread to dip…you can thank me later.

  1. Loaded Latkes $8.49, Smokejumpers Grill
Traditionally prepared to celebrate Hanukkah, these potato pancake fritters are loaded with flavor. Topped with smoked brisket and dairy-free horseradish cream and scallions they won’t leave you disappointed especially because unlike most of the festival offerings, you can pick these up with mobile ordering.
  1. Esquites Carnitas Mac & Cheese $8.50, Merry Mashups in front of the Golden Zephyr

Who doesn’t love Mac & cheese? And for $8.50 I feel like this is the best value item for the festival. It’s a hearty serving of carnitas atop Esquites-inspired mac & cheese. They add wonderful latin flavor profiles with salsa macha, some crunchy texture with the spiced puffed rice, freeze-dried corn, and chopped cilantro. All in all, it’s a great Mexican inspired Cali dish from deep inside a theme park!

  1. Chocolate Bourbon-flavored Tart $7.00 Visions of Sugarplums next to Grizzly Peak waterfall

This brand new offering is a rich and decadent holiday dessert at its finest. It’s made with TWIX Cookie Bar pieces, layers of caramel and chocolate bourbon-flavored mousse. Although there’s no alcohol, it definitely packs a boozy-flavor so if you’re not a fan of bourbon, you probably won’t like it, but if you are and you love chocolate, this will win dessert for you.

BONUS honorable mention:

Our favorite thing to snag is the Mickey Mouse-shaped Gingerbread Cookie from Making Spirits Bright at Embarcadero Gifts, ($7.50) It’s not exactly the same as the famous Mickey Gingerbread, but it’s a GREAT runner up.
